For the purposes of the long-term development projects, infrastructure projects, major improvement works, capital works, and/or non-works projects of the School for the benefit of all students, Stamford American School Hong Kong (“the School” or “Stamford”) raises funds via the issuance of Debentures, and the collection of Capital Levies. All enrolled students are required to subscribe to one of the options. The funds will be collected by Flora Education Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong with business registration number 65772204, the operating entity of the School, for and on behalf of the School and for the sole purposes of the School.
Debentures are only available to parents who have applied for their children to attend the School and wish to gain priority in admission or their corporate employers. All debenture applications are subject to review by the School following the School’s admissions policy.
HK$150,000, valid for the student’s duration at Stamford, payable after acceptance of the admission offer following the terms and conditions of the Capital Levy. The Capital Levy (either Option A or Option B) is mandatory for children who are admitted to Stamford without a debenture.
HK$30,000, valid for the 2025/2026 academic year, payable after acceptance of the admission offer following the terms and conditions of the Capital Levy. The Capital Levy (either Option A or Option B) is mandatory for children who are admitted to Stamford without a debenture.
The terms and conditions of the Capital Levies will be made available to interested parents. For more details, please email admissions@sais.edu.hk.
*Subject to Education Bureau’s (EDB) approval
If Capital Levy (Option B) is chosen, a separate one-off fee of Tuition Fee Offset of HK$30,000 will also be charged. Except in specified circumstances, the Tuition Fee Offset will be deducted from the last semester tuition fees before the student leaves the School.
Discounts
A 50% discount of the One-Time Capital Levy Fee / Annual Capital Levy Fee will be offered for the enrollment of a third child of the same parent, and a full waiver of the Capital Levy Fee for a fourth child and beyond.
This applies if two / three children (not including the aforementioned child) of the same parent are enrolled at the School and are either studying at the School or have graduated from the School after completing Grade 12.
Priority to the discount and waiver will rank according to the ages of the respective children in the same family. For example, if there are 3 children of the same parent enrolled at the School, the youngest child will be entitled to the 50% discount; while if there are 4 children of the same parent enrolled at the School, the youngest child will be entitled to the full waiver while the second youngest child will be entitled to the 50% discount.
For the purposes of this provision, a “child” or “children” of a person is the son or daughter, or stepson or stepdaughter, whether by birth or legal adoption, of that person.
Scholarships
Scholarships are available for enrolled and applying high school students based on excellence in the arts, STEM, athletics, and academics. For full details, visit our scholarship page.
A limited number of Entrance Scholarships are available to external students enrolling at Stamford for the first time. The Entrance Scholarship aims to support a wide diversity of students and talents. Recipients of Entrance Scholarships are notified at the time of admission offer. All new applications are automatically eligible to be considered for an Entrance Scholarship and are not required to submit an additional application.
The holder of a debenture obtains priority in admissions, subject to Stamford’s eligibility requirements. Corporate Debentures (Platinum, Standard Plus, and Standard) confer the highest priority in admissions, followed by Individual Debentures.
All children who are nominated by a debenture holder are exempt from the mandatory capital levy.
For non-corporate applicants:
Individual Debenture HK$500,000
Stamford issues a very limited number of optional debentures for corporate employers. There are three types of corporate debentures in the below priority order:
If you have any questions regarding the above, please contact admissions@sais.edu.hk.
If, for any reason, parents cancel their acceptance of a place before the student starts at Stamford, Capital Levy and tuition fee offset will not be refunded. For students who have already started, Tuition Fees paid in advance may be refunded provided sufficient notice (3 months) has been given.
Once a student is confirmed and admitted to Stamford American School Hong Kong for an academic year, deferrals to a subsequent semester or academic year are not permitted; families wishing to defer must reapply and receive a new offer for the following academic year, and all previously paid fees will be forfeited, except for debenture holders, who will be treated as withdrawals and receive refunds in accordance with their signed agreements.
To provide for repairs, maintenance and improvement of the school’s facilities for the benefit of all students, Stamford American School Hong Kong raises funds via the issuance of Debentures, and the collection of Capital Levies. All enrolled students are required to subscribe to one of the options.
