IB World School

Stamford American School Hong Kong is through-train IB World School that offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). All graduates will receive the Stamford American US High School Diploma accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), which provides your child a passport to universities globally. The elementary years foster skills to enable our learners to pursue the full IBDP or IB courses option to access over 5,000 universities in 100 countries. With a strong foundation, the possibilities are endless!

Nurturing the Whole Child

A successful elementary education not only builds a solid academic foundation but nurtures the whole child to inspire curious and risk-taking learners. Stamford builds social-emotional skills through weekly lessons in the Second Step Program, focusing on outdoor education and developing life skills. Students develop diverse skills through the IB Learner Profile, Approaches to Learning, and a broad range of specialist courses in the arts, science, languages, and more. As every child is unique, our faculty are experts in personalizing learning. We see each child as a unique individual and our curriculum ensures children are supported and challenged at every grade level. As an international community, we offer over 48 levels of Spanish and Mandarin, EAL support and over 50 CCA programs that caters to a wide range of interests and passions.

Online Application - Pre-primary to Grade 12

We offer admissions on a rolling basis, so students can start school any time during the academic year if space is available in their grade. Please note that classes are only offered from Pre-Primary to Grade 11 in the 2021/22 academic year and we will offer Pre-Primary to Grade 12 in 2022/23. We are a through-train school, and once your child enrolls at Stamford, they can attend until the graduation – no need to reapply.

What makes Stamford special is the care, knowledge and professionalism of the staff and faculty. Nick has been thriving academically, transitioning from Elementary to Secondary with the help and guidance of his teachers and counsellors. When asked about his favourite subject, Nick said that he likes them all. During the pandemic, the school pivoted to an excellent online learning program. Communication and support from the school to parents remains consistently strong.

Stamford’s STEMinn and Arts program are key strengths of the school. This year’s Mission Inspire Project gave Nick the opportunity to collaborate and innovate with fellow students to create and code a space attack video game. Coding is a new skill Nick is now passionate about. Frequent group projects have taught Nick to work well with others. Learning Mandarin five days a week is a plus.
